Asta Manah Liang:
Pioneering Biodynamics and Beyond Waste in Bali
At the heart of Bali’s growing sustainability movement stands Asta Manah Liang, a shining example of how innovation, collaboration, and community can converge to create lasting environmental impact.
Established in 2023 in Denpasar under the Asta Group, the company has rapidly positioned itself as a pioneer in biodynamic waste management, transforming waste into value while restoring harmony between people and the planet.
Operating at the TPS3R in Desa Gelgel, Klungkung, Asta Manah Liang embodies the Zero Waste principle — ensuring that every type of waste is processed responsibly.
Organic waste is converted into vermicompost fertilizers and bio-enzymes, enriching soil health and promoting biodynamic farming.
Plastic waste is melted into durable building blocks and pavers, with 70% of the TPS3R’s own facility built using these recycled materials.
Even residual waste is managed using smokeless, high-temperature incineration, eliminating harmful emissions while maintaining efficiency.
This holistic system of circularity and regeneration is now being amplified through hashtag#Sustainix, a hashtag#blockchain-based platform that tracks every process — from waste segregation to product creation — ensuring that every claim of sustainability is verifiable, traceable, and auditable in real time.
With Sustainix, Asta Manah Liang not only practices sustainability — it proves it.
Supported by Pakatan SeRumpun, a regional collaboration bridging Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, the hashtag#BeyondWaste initiative turns Asta Manah Liang’s model into a regional blueprint for waste-to-value ecosystems.
Through shared data, policies, and verification, other communities across Southeast Asia can adopt and adapt this proven system for their own local needs.
It’s no wonder SustNET Sustainable Business Network and delegates from across ASEAN selected Asta Manah Liang as a case study during the Asia Pacific Sustainability Conference & Awards (APSCA).
It is more than a company — it’s a movement.
A living embodiment of “biodynamics in action”, proving that when innovation meets integrity, waste becomes wealth, and sustainability becomes a way of life.
