Synopsis: Creating Value That Lives Beyond Us
Dr. Daniel CF Ng, Inaugural Chairman, Asia Pacific Sustainability CEO Circle
In his inaugural address as Chairman of the first Asia Pacific Sustainability CEO Circle, Dr. Daniel CF Ng explores what it truly means to create “value that lives beyond us” — value that outlasts leaders, organisations, and economic cycles. Speaking in honour of Malaysia as host nation, Daniel highlights the country’s unique blend of cultural depth, community values, and technological ambition, making it an ideal setting for a new era of sustainability leadership.
Using relatable regional stories, he illustrates that sustainable value is fundamentally human. A powerful example comes from Bali’s Asta Manah Liang, where every employee — all Balinese — receives a cow. Beyond humour, this practice demonstrates continuity, dignity, and family empowerment, proving that value is not measured only in profit, but in futures strengthened.
Daniel also emphasises that value requires trust, and trust today requires credible data. He introduces Sustainix — a blockchain-based platform enabling full tracking, tracing, and tokenisation of sustainability actions. Sustainix’s first global project, BeyondWaste, will trace waste from source to impact, merging tradition with advanced technology.
He further highlights Pakatan SeRumpun, the tripartite collaboration driving regional progress:
-
Baliola, led by I Gede Putu Rahman Desyanta (ANTA), offering blockchain-enabled transparency;
-
SustNet, led by Malaysia’s Ts. Dr. Nor Saidatul Akmar Mazelan, providing sustainability courses and certifications;
-
Omni Integra, led by Dr. Daniel, unifying messaging and technology into a humanised system.
Ultimately, Dr. Daniel calls on CEOs to act not as competitors, but as custodians of trust and long-term regional wellbeing — shaping value that truly lives beyond us.
